Have you ever tried and tried and tried to like spiders but you keep getting grossed out by the spiders. Well if you said yes to one of those questions then you will love this book! I’m Trying to Love Spiders is about a girl who is trying to love spiders, but she had one problem. She kept smashing spiders because she is so grossed out by spiders. She thinks of spiders in a way that is very unique. For example she was thinking of it like the things she likes. Read to find out what she does when she meets a real spider. I like this book! One reason I like this book is because the girl is super funny because she keeps panicking and screaming because she is super grossed out. For example she keeps saying, "Squish it! Squish it!" This book reminds me of when I was scared of spiders and maybe it will remind you of trying to be brave when you're afraid of something too.

Trevor is a very lonely bird who did not have a friend. Trevor got a seed and gave it to a lemon, and while Trevor was bouncing he accidentally let the seed fall. Trevor was not looking, and he thought that the lemon dropped it. Trevor said, “Now see what you have done!’’ A moment later Trevor said, “If you are sorry then don’t say a thing." The lemon did not say anything. Trevor said, “You are forgiven.” So they were now friends. When there was a storm, Trevor lost the lemon, and he cried. Read to find out if he finds another friend. I love this book! One great thing about the book Trevor is that the pictures are so cute!!! Also it shows friendship. For example, Trevor tries to make friends with the lemon. Another reason I like this book is because Trevor takes lots of care for the lemon, For example, Trevor hugs the lemon when the dark storm came, and Trevor cried for his friend the lemon. By Drew Daywalt Illustrated by Oliver Jeffers Reviewed By Cecilia I love The Day The Crayons Came Home! If you like never giving up or The Day The Day The Crayons Quit then you will love this book. In this story there are crayons who have been forgotten, lost, and broken. One day letters came from the crayons for Duncan, the crayon owner. He read the letters and thought about ways to make everyone come back together. Read to find out what Duncan's idea is and if it works. I like this book! One reason I like this book is there are real-looking pictures. I think that’s cool. Another reason I like this book is on two pages there is a huge castle. It’s made out of cardboard. The last reason I like this book is there’s a bright pink crayon that has gone to China, Canada, France, the North Pole, and the Amazon Rainforest. The crayon has a suitcase that has 15 stickers, and there are stamps for each place. This reminds me of when I went to Wisconsin and in Wisconsin I went camping and got million mosquito bites. If you like trying again when you fail, or if you love making 3D things out of cardboard, you will like The Day The Crayons Came Home. Give it a try! Henny, Penny, Lenny, Denny, And Mike

By Peter Brown Reviewed By: Riya (Age 7) Do you love pets and children? Do you get mixed up? If so you will love this book! One day Lucy was out in the forest practicing her twirls when she found a pet who was really a child. She loved it. She named it Squeaker. She went home to show her mom the pet she found. Her mother said children make terrible pets. But Lucy said, “Aw, come on, Mom! Look how sweet he is! You won't be any trouble, will ya, boy?” “Oh, all right, you can keep him on ONE condition: Squeaker is YOUR responsibility. I will not take care of him for you.” “Thanks, Mom.” Lucy and Squeaker had so much fun! They had a really great time doing lots of things together. Find out what happens when Lucy finds out that her pet is not what she thought it was. I like this book! One part of the book I like is when Lucy was taking care of Squeaker. They both ate together and played together and napped together. Another part of the book I like is when Lucy found the pet. It was so surprising to me. I also like the pet's name Squeaker. It’s a cute name. The third part of the book I really liked was when Lucy tried to teach Squeaker potty training. It was a little hard for her to do. I think this is a great book. You will love it when you read it. There are so many parts of this book I love. I hope you enjoy the book! If you did then see the first book, You Will Be My Friend! They are both great books! The Night Gardener
By: The Fan Brothers Reviewed by: Talia (age 7 ) Have you ever read about a boy who turns happy even though he lives in an orphanage? In a place where people are sad, the night gardener does magical and mysterious things to make them happy. This book is about a boy named William, who lives in an orphanage. William is very sad, like his town, Grimloch. One day he looked out his window and saw a lot of people who were wandering around a tree that looked like an owl. ”And he kept on looking at it until it was too dark to see.” That made him confused but kind of excited. The next day was different, there was a tree that looked like a cat. It had real cats on it. Each day William was amazed to see trees in new animal shapes, and those animals were around the tree. He figured out the night gardener was making the trees. Read to find out what happens when William meets the night gardener. One reason I like this book is the pictures. They are some of the best pictures in the world because they have a lot of detail in them. I also like the part when William is drawing an owl because the owl looks good, and it looked like the same owl that was from the night gardener. If you like happy books and books about kids that find out something that nobody knows then you will like this book. So go try it out. Trevor

Story by Aaron Reynolds Pictures by Matt Davies Reviewed by Bridget Nerdy Birdy Tweets is about friendship and being someone’s friend, even if no one else will be their friend. It's one of the best books ever written! You will love it when you read it. Nerdy Birdy Tweets is a story that tells people who are right next to you that they are more important than the ones on technology. Nerdy Birdy has a friend named Vulture. Vulture does not like this new game called Tweetster. The two things Nerdy Birdy and Vulture love doing together are making fun of each other’s lunch and they like “taking funny pictures of each other.” during lunch Nerdy Birdy takes mean pictures that Nerdy Birdy think it is funny. Read to find out if Vulture sees it on Tweetster. One reason I like this book is the lesson. The lesson is the importance of being someone's friend even if no one else will be their friend. Another reason I like this book is because the author came to our school and told my class story the behind this story. I like the author’s message which is to make new friends and do not be afraid to make new friends like he was. I hope you read this book because it shows why it's important not to make fun of someone. It shows to be someone's friend. You should go check it out at the library right now. My Teacher is a Monster!

Robert throws paper airplanes in the classroom and gets in trouble from his teacher. On the weekend Robert was minding his own business at the park but then he sees something that makes him so surprised! It's his teacher! See what happens when they do something together. I like this book. It has a good lesson. The lesson is do not be mean to your teacher. You have to listen to your teacher. This story reminds me of when I saw a person on the playground looking lonely, but I came over and said, "Would you like to play with me?" I hope this book will remind you of when you helped someone. Have fun reading the book. Carnivores
Written by: Aaron Reynolds Illustrated by: Dan Santat Reviewed by: Brady Have you ever tried to give up something you love? Well in this book they try to. It reminds me of when I tried to give up Fortnite for a week, but I couldn't. Carnivores is a funny book. It’s about some of the most feared predators, a lion, a shark, and a wolf. The lion is the “king of beasts.” The “Great White Shark is the most feared predator in the ocean.” The “Timber wolf’s howl strikes terror into the hearts of fuzzy woodland creatures everywhere.” These scary animals are all trying not to be carnivores when they have been carnivores since they were born. Read to find out if they become vegetarians. One reason I love this book is because it’s funny. The carnivores try to be vegetarians and they go in disguise. The lion tried going as an antelope, but when they smelled his zebra breath he was done for. The shark blended in with the dolphins until he was bloodthirsty and they disappeared. The wolf just drooled on the bunnies. All of those were funny. I think the lesson of this book is just be who you are no matter what. Carnivores reminds me of when me and my brother said “I’m going to go vegetarian” but he was just joking. You will like this book if you read it. You will like all the funny parts. |
