After The Fall
By: Dan Santat Reviewed by: Noah age 8 Were or are you afraid of heights? Do you like eggs? If you said yes to one of these questions you will like this book. The story begins with an egg named Humpty Dumpty. He wanted to watch birds up close, but after the fall he was afraid of heights. He made a paper airplane that looked like a bird. But it got stuck on the wall. Read to find out if he gets his paper airplane back. This is a great book! I like it because it is funny. A funny part is when all the good cereals are at the top and Humpty Dumpty can’t reach them. There is a ladder he can climb, but he is afraid of heights. Another reason you will like this book is Humpty Dumpty problem solves. One example is he wants to watch birds up close so he makes a paper airplane that look like a bird so he doesn't have to climb up the wall. This book reminds me of when I was scared of a big roller coaster, but I went on it and it was actually really fun. If you ever conquered a fear or have a fear, I recommend this book to you.

By Kadir Nelson Reviewed By: Justin If You Plant A Seed is a great book. If you like to plant tomatoes, and if you like a cute little bunny and a mouse, you would like this book. A bunny and a mouse plant some seeds on a farm. When the plants grow the bunny and the mouse eat all of the tomatoes. Then the crows come. They yelled at the bunny and the mouse because they did not leave any food for the crows. Then the crows got seeds and dumped them everywhere! I like this book because it makes me laugh. For example when they yelled at each other it sounds so weird. When the crows talk it sounds like this:Caw! Caw! Caw! Caw! Caw! Caw! Caw! Then the bunny sounds like this: Sniff! Sniff! Sniff! It reminds me of when my friends and I are yelling at each other on the football field. I love this book because the illustrations are so cool. I like the part where it looks like the bunny is walking backwards because he was getting in trouble. I love this book, and if you like animals I think you would too. The Bad Seed
By Jory John Pictures by Pete Oswald Reviewed by Allison Have you ever gotten mad and wanted to be bad? If so, you will understand The Bad Seed. You should read this book! The Bad Seed is about a seed that was not polite. So… a seed was having a great day in his sunflower and then it drooped. He almost got eaten by a man, so he was screaming, “Ahhhhhhh!’’ The man sneezed, and the seed fell and got hurt. After that he began to be bad. Read to find out if he becomes good again. I like this book! One reason I like it is that it tells us a lesson. The lesson is that if you are a bad person try to be a nice person. The second reason I like this book is that the characters are joking with each other a lot. For example the kernel of corn says, “Hey look there goes the bad seed’’. And then Pistachio Nut says, “Actually he is not all that bad anymore.’’ This book reminds me of when I was in kindergarten. I was playing with my friend Sophia. Suddenly she was screaming that everywhere in her body hurt. I thought that she was lying so I screamed back at her. But she was not lying. We were mean to each other that day, so we were bad to each other the next day. But then we became friends again and we are still friends! If you like eating seeds or you like Jory John, I think you would like this book! Give it a try! Not Quite Narwhal

If you didn't say yes to both of those questions that's ok. You will still love this book. But if you said yes to both of those questions, you will really love this book. Kelp was born like a narwhal but he knew he was different. One night he was at the surface and saw a creature like him so he swam to shore. When he got to the grass he saw unicorns but he shouted, “LAND NARWHALS!” because he did not know what a unicorn was. He learned new things. Read to find out if he is goes back in the ocean or not. I like this book. One reason I like this book is because I like the pictures. The pictures are great! One picture I love has unicorns, narwhals, rainbows, animals and beach balls. Scaredy Squirrel At the Beach
By: Melanie Watt Reviewed by: Bianca Howe (Age 7) Have you ever been scared of something at the beach? Have you ever made a plan to stay away from the things you were scared of at the beach? Well, this squirrel does it in the story. This book is about a squirrel who is afraid of the beach. He is scared of “flocks of seagulls, tribes of jellyfish, herds of sea monsters, packs of pirates, tons of falling coconuts, and mobs of lobsters.” So, the squirrel made his own beach. Read to find out what the squirrel made to stay away from the things he is afraid of at the beach. I like this book! One reason I like this book is because Scaredy Squirrel makes silly beachwear, so he doesn't get to the things he is afraid of on the beach. For example, he used french fries so he can distract seagulls. When I was little I was afraid of seagulls. If you think you would like a book about a squirrel afraid of things at the beach, you will like this book when you read it. Potato Pants!
